7 Content Myths Busted

So much in marketing is drenched in expectations.
To be a certain way.
To sell in a specific way.
To do in a certain way.
To use specific language.
Almost always in a way that is the very opposite of our being.

To help you free yourself of these expectations and rather put energy and flow into what already works, I’ve listed 7 very common content myths below.

1. Create content largely through high ranking keywords.
2. Go into content overdrive and become a content machine.
3. Only create content that’s main purpose is to sell.
4. Show up everywhere.
5. Share everything.
6. Be clever.
7. Keep things simple.

So, what could you be doing instead?

1. Create content that offers actual value to your customers.
2. Show up generously.
3. Instead of making assumptions about your customers, ask yourself “What do you know to be true?”
4. Offer balanced and varied content.
5. Be clear not clever.
6. Be specific not simplistic.
7. Ask yourself “would I read this”? If no, don’t share it.
8. Run fail-safe experiments on a small scale such as A/B tests in emails, on landing pages and lead magnets.

What I’ve just described is 👇
#fit-for-customer content

1. Offer something of value
Something that solves a problem your prospect / customer experiences (not you).

2. Connect with people who value it
“This is for me, and me alone”.

3. Keep offering & sharing value
Focus on what your value offering does as opposed to what it is.
